Photo: Testing the Ball Intake Mechanism
Testing out the ball intake mechanism on the practice robot in the hallway. Powered by a single CIM motor through a 2:1 reduction using 5mm pitch timing belt, the ball intake mechanism was powerful enough to fling the Orbit balls about ten feet out of the back of the robot (before the elevator and shooter was added), and when running in reverse can shoot balls across the floor easily 15-20 feet.
