The top of the spiral-shaped ball hopper. This ball hopper could hold up to 23-25 balls, however it was rarely ever filled to this amount during the competition. The spiral as shown here worked fine for the most part, but the pitch of the spiral was not enough and often the balls would jam during a match. Later on in the competition season after the Championship event, the last stage of the ball spiral was cut out to increase the pitch of the ball spiral. This also reduced our hopper capacity to only about 12-15 balls depending on how they indexed into the robot, but this proved more than enough for every match. By the time our last competition came around, we were scoring a ton of balls into the goal and we ranked third at the event.
