The DeWalt transmission and custom-designed mounting plate. (Note the two small idler gears on the bottom run of the roller chain. These were used to ensure there was at least 180 degrees of wrap around the 9-tooth output sprocket of the DeWalt transmission. This mounting plate worked quite well, however the fact that we only used a single loop of chain, along with a unnoticed manufacturing defect in our pillow blocks caused the chain to constant;y "pop" off the sprockets. Because only a single loop of chain was used, this would prevent our robot from doing much for the rest of the match. This problem was most noticeable at the 2006 Championship Event, where our chains stayed on the robot less often then they fell off. However, when the manufacturing defect was finally found during the offseason, the problem was quickly repaired and we did not have any additional problems with our drive train.)
