2008-2009 VEX Robotics Competition: Elevation
August 19, 2008
Today, at noon central time, the new VEX Robotics game called Elevation, was released. The game takes place on a 12' by 12' field and the matches are two on two with a blue and red alliance. The main playing field components of the game are 3" cubes and the object is to score them in one of the eight goals on the field. The triangular-shaped goals range in height from 3" to 21" and the object is to own a goal by having your cube be the last one on top. There is also a special 10.5" cube on the field that if your alliance "owns" it at the end of the match, then your alliance receive 5 extra bonus points. The matches have a 20 second antonymous period at the beginning and then following is 2 minutes of a driver operated period.

Putt-Putt Tournament of Champions 2008
August 9, 2008On Saturday, August 9th team 228 Gus went mini golfing at Putter’s Paradise in Berlin, as a summer fun activity. We enjoyed two rounds of golf on two very challenging courses. Some of us realized that just because it says it’s a par three hole, doesn’t mean it won’t take you six tries to get the ball in. I would also like to congratulate Art Dutra III for having the best score of the mentors and Nick Mann for having the best score of the students. Everyone, in the end put in a good effort and had fun competing.
